Top 5: Winter Nailpolish Picks

The cooler weather is finally starting to settle in here in Australia, which has inspired a change in my nail choices.

While I am a firm believer that you can wear any colour any time of year, I will admit I do reach for these colours more in the cilly months.

For longwear and chip free, my favorite brands are OPI and L'Oreal.

So here are my top 5 picks for this winter...

1. Burgundy
You can't go past a good dark vampy polish for winter, ox blood or burgundy colours make a great alternative to harsher black.

Colour Riche Le Vernis 403 FEMME FATALE

2. Grey
Either dark or light! A shimmery like grey is perfect if you aren't a fan of the draker colours.

3. Midnight Blue

4. Dusky Pink
Super girly but still perfect for winter!

5. Glitter
Any glitter works but this rose gold OPI polish it gorgeous!

What's your favourite winter polish?

Travel Snaps: our America holiday!

After months of saving and planing, the time finally came in February this year for our much overdue holiday!

LA, Vegas, New York and San Fran all in just under 3 weeks. Here's some of my favourite snaps of the trip!

A short stop over in Auckland before our 12 hour flight to LA….

First stop, Hollywood!!

Watching our first sunset over the ocean at Santa Monica. Was spectaular to see…

Exploring Santa Monica and the Pier before dinner at Bubba Gump…

Road trip to Vegas! Driving on the opposite side of the road was definitely different! haha. After we checked in we drove down to explore 'old Vegas'...

More airports and planes to make it to the city that never sleeps, NYC! That manhattan skyline stole my heart <3

NY subway!

Central Park snow! This was the first time Roki had seen the snow, and only the second for me…

Mini Mr Snowman…

A trip to NY wouldn't be right without a visit to the 9/11 memorial…

San Fran, burning off those holiday calories with a sunset bike ride over the Golden Gate Bridge…

Amazing views of the bay from Alcatraz…

We got lost on the way home and came across the Palace of Fine Art….

Back to LA just in time to see the set up for the Golden Globes!

Before starting the (long) journey back home….

I hope you enjoyed these snaps, where have you been lately?

Cute messy boho hair!!

Hi guys!

I'm so lucky to have an awesome friend who also happens to be an amazing hairdresser. This is a quick look she did for me recently for a dinner out. Super cute and non-fussy! Sometimes I just like to have my hair up off my back, this look is perfect for those days…

End of a Chapter

Hi guys!

I just wanted to share a quick post with you today. This past Wednesday was a very special day for me, after four and a half long years of study I finally graduated from Uni! It was an amazing day full of special people and lots of love and support.

For those of you with a friend or family member at Uni, it may seem like you've been put last on the list of priorities. Try and remember, they are working towards something very special. With a lot of hard work and support from the people around them (like you!) they will make it there in the end :)

Stay smart my lovelies!! Xx

Casual Friday

Just a quick work OOTD!! TGIF to all you Monday to Friday workers :)

Ecriture De Chanel Automatic Liquid Liner Review

Who here is an eyeliner junkie? I defiantly am. A good winged liner can complete any makeup look, or used on its own, can make it seem like you've put in way more effort than you actually have. Who could say no to that!?

Recently my beloved Dollywink liquid liner came to the end of its tenure in my makeup drawer, and I spent a while looking around to try something new. After trolling strawberrynet.com for a few days, I came across the Ecriture De Chanel Liquid Liner. I recalled actually swatching it at a Chanel counter a few months ago when my sister was looking for a new liner, and was quite impressed.

Now this defiantly isn't the cheapest option for liner. I got mine on strawberrynet.com for around $50 - which is a lot compared to my $12 Dollywink one! I decided to spoil myself after my exams, so I took the plunge and ordered away.

I have to say… I'm glad I made the investment! I purchased the Nior (black) one, which is super inky black and gorgeous. It uses a brush tip (rather than a felt one - the tester looking kind), which allows you to create both a gorgeous thick cat eye, or a nice thin line if you just want to make your lashes look thicker. I also love that it is mechanical, so you only wind up the product you want to use, leaving no room for wastage. This is ideal when your buying a higher end, pricier liner. There's nothing worse than spending a heap of money on something that drys up in a couple of weeks!!

Here's a few snaps…

To wrap up, this is an amazing liner, I definitely recommend having a play next time your walking past a Chanel counter! For anyone in Australia, it's still available on the Website if you want to check it out!
