Caring for your feet

Looking after your feet is an important part of your beauty routine, but unfortunately its something many people leave out. If you don't care for your feet properly they can become very dry, cracked and unsightly :S This post will show you a cheap, easy way to make sure your feet stay healthy and happy :)

To do this all you will need is:
1. a good moisturizer (I use Vaseline for dry skin bought at Kmart for around $3)
2.a foot file or pumice (pictured is the Body Shops double-sided foot file for $4.95)
3. cling wrap
4. a pair of socks.

Just before you get into bed at night, preferably straight after a shower, use a good moisturizer all over your feet. Focus on the heels and balls of your feet as this is where calluses tend to build up and your feet start to crack as you get older. Also, make sure you apply a generous amount, don't just rub it all in. After applying applying the moisturizer wrap your feet in cling wrap and cover with socks. Leave your feet like this overnight. It may not be very comfortable but your feet will thank you for it in the long run! The reason you should use cling wrap rather than just wearing your socks as normal is because the moisturizer will just soak into the socks without it. If you use cling wrap it has no where to go but into your feet! :)

When you wake up in the morning take off the socks and cling wrap and rub the remaining moisturizer into your feet. Using the foot file, gentle rub away any hard or dead skin, again focusing on the heels and balls of your feet. If you already have hard and cracked feet you should repeat this as often as possible! You can do this routine as much or as little as you like, depending on what your own feet are like.

A few notes on the personal side of things.... Merry Christmas!!
I'm actually writing this on Christmas eve :)
It's been a hectic Christmas as always, with friends and relatives staying with us and trying to get Christmas shopping done in between work. But I think its worth it in the end :)
My partner and I got each other a Nikon D5000 as a present, can you see the difference in the photos? I'm in love with it! <3
Just to finish off the post, here's a cute pic of Molly in her Christmas scarf! hehe

Merry Christmas and thanks for reading!

September favorites

Hi everyone!

Well as I said when i first started this blog, it's hard to update a lot while I'm at Uni, but as of last Thursday I'm finished until March! I'm so excited to be finished for the year :) So I thought to celebrate I would do a September favorites blog!

So first I have Rimmel's 60 seconds nail polish in Princess Pink. This is a very very light pink colour which I think is perfect for summer (it's currently summer here in Australia).

This is a new concealer from Rimmel which I have been trying out. I love it so far, it doesn't go on greasy and covers dark circles really well which is perfect for me because mine need lots of coverage!! haha. I got mine in soft beige.

Then I have my everyday mascara. I have been using this one for a while now because I quite like it. It is The Body Shop's big and curvy mascara and it definitely lives up to its name, I never have to put on more than one coat :)

Next I have a blush called A Floral Affair by Revlon in the colour Peachy Keen. As you can see I use this one a lot lol. I think it creates a perfect rosy cheek without being too glittery so its perfect for day time. And then I have my Lancome Juicy Tube! Juicy Tubes are awesome because they require minimal reapplying :P They also make your lips  super glossy which looks great in summer.

And the last two are my Body Shop Soft Hands Kind Heart hand cream which I use every night before bed, and my eye drops. I don't have contacts or anything, these eye drops are just kind of a refresher drop. They are Japanese and just amazing, it's like mouthwash for your eyes!! haha. This brand is Rohto C3.

And I couldn't not add this photo! lol. My little puppy Molly got a new haircut on Tuesday and she looks so cute! Who knew there was a puppy under all that hair haha <3

Well, thats my September favorites, I hope you enjoyed reading and I'll post something again soon!

Cya!

Update

Just wanted to update on what's been happening...
Its the last week of classes at Uni so things are getting very busy... i was at Uni until 1am the other day ><
But it's also birthday season it seems. I had a 23rd bday last weekend which was a costume party...

The theme was something starting with 'm', because the birthday boy's name starts with m. My boyfriend went as micheal jackson, which looked pretty freaky lol. I didnt have time to organize a costume so i just had to go with what i had... i went as the goddess Metis haha. and my puppy went as herself cos her name is Molly!! lol

The second birthday was a 21st last night. I didnt get a pic of my outfit but i wore an orange, patterned strapless dress and black suede tony bianco pumps :)

well thats all for now...i probably wont have time to post until after classes finish now.

thanks for reading!

First Haul :)

So this haul is from 2 different shopping trips... I had to go shopping for birthday presents for my bf's 2 brothers and then after lunch with his family today I went shopping at pacific fair. Sorry about the photo quality in these pics... its like 2.30am here and the lighting is horrible in my room ><

So here goes...

I got this L'Oreal Paris eye shadow trilogy.... I tried to take a picture of some swabs on my hand but they didnt come out very well :( I'm loving lots of coral and peachy colours for spring so I thought this was perfect. The colour on the left is a peach, the middle one is more of a coral, and the one n the right is just a matte brown. The texture of these are great, it goes on very smooth... and what i really love is there's very little fall out!^^ I got this at the Giant Chemist at Pacific Fair :)

Next I got Natio's powder brush. I got this because i need a blush brush and this was the perfect size. It was only $9.95 on special at the Giant Chemist again, but the brush is very soft and great quality... especially for the price!
Then  got Rimmel's 1000 Kisses Stay on Lip Liner Pencil in Wild Cover 014. I love this colour, its like a nude pink and I like to wear it without any lip stick over the top... I just add some lip gloss over the top, I have been using just a Lancome Juicy Tube. This I bought when I was doing some birthday present shopping, at Priceline (you should be able to get this at any drug store) for $8.50, which I thought was really cheap :)

Then I got this Maxfactor Translucent Powder in medium 2. I actually used this tonight when I went to a friends themed birthday party, and I went as a goddess so I wanted a really flawless face. This was amazing! I used over the top of just concealer and foundation and it went on really smooth and looked amazing. Also, I don't usually wear foundation because I feel it makes my skin too greasy, but the powder was very mattifying and took away any shininess and lasted for hours :)

Lastly, I picked up this Neutrogena alcohol-free toner which you just apply as usual after cleansing. I have used it a few times because I actually got this yesterday, and I do find it very moisturizing without making my skin oily... but I would prefer a toner that removes any left over dirt etc from my face after cleansing, but this doesn't really do that.

So I hope you liked my haul, I'd love to here any thoughts on these products so feel free to leave a comment!
3am and its finally time for sleep ><

night!

New Blog!

Hi everyone :)

This is my first ever blog and I'm very excited to have finally gotten around to making it!
I will try and blog as much as I can, but there will probably be more during Uni breaks because study can get quite hectic ><
This blog will be a mix of beauty and fashion related posts as well as some personal stuff every now and then ^^
Anyways, I should probably introduce myself!

So, my name is Rachel... I live in Queensland, Australia. I study Law at University so I love using fashion and beauty as a outlet for creativity, cos lets face it... Law can be a bit dull lol. I am not a professional so any tips or information given on this blog is only my personal opinion and I don't expect everyone to share my opinion :P I just want to share my passion for fashion and beauty with others interested :)

I developed my style a lot from Japanese fashion and lifestyle... (I lived in Japan and went to high school there for a year)... so my style is very girly!

In this blog  will be posting reviews, hauls, make up, fashion etc. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and feel free to ask any questions (nothing too personal tho..) and I will answer them as best I can!

Happy reading!
